Stephenie Meyer on Oprah

November 14, 2009 by Nikki Katz

Stephenie Meyer graced the Oprah stage yesterday, and I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed with the interview. It was all the same ole stuff. What I really wanted to know, is what is she working on now?

In the interview Stephenie discusses how she wrote Twilight, what effect it had on her marriage while writing it, and how happy she is with the casting. She also reveals the original ending of New Moon and why she changed it!

There was a different ending to New Moon originally,” she says. “It was a much quieter book. It was very much all in Bella’s head.

My mom’s like: ‘You know, Stephenie, maybe a little more action at the end would be a good idea. Maybe you need that,’” Stephenie says. “And she was right, as usual.

So Stephenie agreed and ended up introducing the Volturi earlier than she originally planned. And now it’s her favorite scene!

I looked on oprah’s website because they said she was going to talk if she had any plans of a new book. I found a video that was of a backstage interview. it was on the site i could probably find it for you if you need me to do so. Anyways she said that she couldn’t write with someone hovering over her to write a story. So, I figured maybe she would when things wouldn’t be so crazy. She said she wanted to go back to writing more maybe with the host
