Robert Pattinson to Star in ‘Bel Ami’ With Nicole Kidman!

It looks like it is a go for Robert Pattinson to star in Bel Ami. The shocker? His costar! It looks like he’ll be teaming up with Nicole Kidman in this film of Guy De Maupassant’s erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction. The film centers on journalist Georges Duroy (played by Rob) and his “rise to the top of Parisian high society in the 1890s, via the beds of the city’s most glamorous and influential women.”
UPDATED to say that Gossip Cop chatted with Nicole’s rep and she is unavailable to star in the film. I guess only time will tell who Rob’s costar will be!
According to Screen Daily, multi-award winning UK theatre directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod are directing from a screenplay by Rachel Bennette.
The film will shoot in London and Budapest from February 2010.
